Company History
Trewin Transport Australia (TTA) was established by Ben Trewin in 1989 at Heyfield in Gippsland, Victoria. Ben remains at the helm of the Company as Managing Director.
The Company started out as a one truck owner-operator, carting caravans and park units for Jayco. Since that time growth by recommendation, and hard work sees Trewins, after almost two decades of developing its core specialization, now Australia’s premier Recreational Vehicle Logistics Company.
In 2004, the Company relocated to Melbourne to be closer to some of its major customers. As a result, the business has continued to grow strongly.
TTA now transports a wide range of specialized freight including cars, trucks, boats, motorbikes, transportable homes, as well as agricultural, construction, industrial and mining machinery and equipment. The Company also carries a growing volume of general freight.
The Company now has over 100 vehicles in its diverse fleet and transports freight
nationwide. Major customers include Jayco, Avans, Hino Trucks, Telwater (incorporating Quintrex and Stacer Boats), Haines Hunter Boats, Whittley Cruisers, World Wide Machinery, Coromal Caravans, Trailcraft Boats, RACV and NRMA.
In November 2006, the Company forged a new strategic partnership, which saw TTA “reborn” as Trewin Logistics on the 1st of January 2007.

Future
The new strategic partnership involves a lot more than a simple name change. The “makeover” of Trewin Logistics will cover every aspect of the Company’s operations including the delivery of core services, physical infrastructure, business support systems, human resources and marketing. The new equipment being designed and built for our fleet will complement our existing operations and ensure we remain the leader in our field for the future.

As a result, the next few years will be exciting and challenging ones for Trewin Logistics.
Community Involvement
The Company retains solid links to local communities in Gippsland. Since relocating to Melbourne, the Company has built strong links in the Dandenong region, and now supports various local community, sporting and welfare organizations such as Dandenong Fire Brigade Competition Team and the Casey Comets Soccer Club.
